The Counsel to the Ministry of Energy & Hydrocarbons hired J.S. Held’s Environmental, Health & Safety practice to assist in the evaluation of environmental conditions associated with oilfield operations. The evaluation included inspection of all aspects of the upstream oilfield operations including wellheads, well pad facilities, production facilities, transportation, and maintenance.
J.S. Held inspected 1,049 wellheads and approximately 1,350 ancillary oilfield production and transportation facilities. The inspections included all supporting production equipment and operations facilities (such as power generation) which are required when building an oilfield base hundreds of miles from the nearest infrastructure. The inspections identified any environmental impacts from the operations, and reporting is ongoing to describe those impacts.
