Heidi Aragon has been with J.S. Held since July of 2016. She is a Vice President for the Renewable Energy department within our larger Building Consulting practice.
“Heidi is a bright, very talented, and highly motivated young professional,” said Timothy Dowden, Renewable Energy Lead. “Her attention to detail and technical skills are highly regarded by her clients, and he is always thinking of others, willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat, and shows that she cares about the success of her fellow colleagues every day.”
Heidi’s role includes project management, providing inspections, scoping, estimating, and detailed cost analysis for insurance claims, as well as litigation support. Whether she is working on a daily assignment or a complex loss, Heidi brings commitment, enthusiasm, and a lively personality to every project.
"While this industry is very technical, I see my work as a form of art — transforming each project from a blank canvas into a complete picture."

Prior to joining J.S. Held, Heidi worked in sales and customer service in personal and commercial lines of insurance. She began her insurance career working for a broker as a commercial lines policy assistant, preparing certificates of insurance and assisting with policy qualification. After a few months in this role, Heidi made the decision to change her path and pursue her California Property and Casualty Insurance License. Upon passing the exam, Heidi became a customer and sales representative for the next five years of her career.
Following her time in the commercial insurance field, Heidi served as an assistant director for an excavation damage prevention company in New Mexico. Her experience in these areas strengthened her knowledge of the insurance industry, public speaking skills, training abilities, and effectiveness in project management. Additionally, she was able to leverage her understanding of building components to obtain her Water Restoration Technician certification from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC).
In 2016, Heidi moved back to her hometown of Wildomar, California, to be closer to her family. During her job search, she came across a temporary administrative assistant position for a construction consulting company (J.S. Held) with an office in Temecula, located just south of Wildomar. Heidi applied for the job and was hired to provide support while another employee was on maternity leave for three months. Her eagerness to contribute and interest in the consulting industry ultimately provided her with an opportunity to begin training as a consultant in 2017, following the completion of her temporary position. Heidi soon began working with senior project managers on large, complex claims for apartment complexes, commercial buildings, hotels, and residential properties due to fire, water, and storm damage.
In 2018, Heidi began working on renewable energy claims on solar and wind farms with several established clients. As the renewable energy industry continued to expand rapidly over the next four years, the number of claims also increased. In January 2022, the J.S. Held Renewable Energy Department, a sub-practice of the Building Consulting division, was established with two members – Heidi and her manager, Timothy Dowden.
In 2023, looking for a change of seasons, Heidi purchased her dream Tudor Revival home in Spokane Valley, WA. Today, Heidi continues as one of the key leaders in the Renewable Energy department, providing claims and litigation support, as well as regularly presenting at leading renewable energy industry events.
Heidi is recognized for her expertise in claims project management and cost analysis. She has worked on a variety of complex matters, including solar energy, wind turbines, and battery storage projects across the USA and Canada. The opportunity to solve unique challenges on a daily basis while working with a team of like-minded colleagues is what Heidi enjoys most about her role at J.S. Held.
Heidi’s passion for being a consultant is derived from her natural desire to help people. She is compassionate and understanding in times of adversity, embracing every assignment with the same level of attention, regardless of its intricacies. Heidi views challenge as “an extraordinary chance to make an impact,” which is an integral part of what makes her successful.
Away from work, Heidi enjoys living life to the fullest in “The Evergreen State.” She can be found paddleboarding on a local lake, conquering home renovation projects, or seeking out the best local coffee roaster.
"Whether it is a quick cup of coffee or an extended conversation, spending quality time with friends and family is what fulfills me."
