Travis Sommerfeld joined J.S. Held in January 2016 after spending two years with Wakelee Associates, LLC. He has over eight years of experience in the construction consulting industry and has worked on various international and domestic projects, ranging from residential property losses to complex commercial construction. He has been responsible for many consulting tasks, including project management, damage quantification, cost estimating, site monitoring, and invoice analysis.

Travis leads the Lake Michigan Building Consulting practice group. He oversees approximately 18 professionals and 10 offices in Detroit, Indianapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo. He has been the lead consultant on numerous complex projects throughout the United States and abroad. He has extensive experience managing a range of major large-loss assignments, including high-net-worth residential, high-rises, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and university campuses.
