Amy Yurish is a Managing Director with two decades of experience in forensic accounting and dispute consulting and joined J.S. Held in March of 2022 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Ocean Tomo. She has led complex investigations and consulting engagements involving financial statement analysis, fraud detection, economic damage evaluation, and auditor malpractice. Her work spans both public and private sectors, with a focus on high-stakes matters requiring deep technical expertise and strategic insight.
Amy has played a key role in supporting government agencies at the state and federal levels, including the US Department of Justice, the Department of the Navy, and the US Department of the Treasury, as well as various Inspector General offices. She has also worked closely with external legal counsel and corporate boards, providing critical support in internal investigations and regulatory compliance matters.
Her professional background includes leading forensic accounting investigations involving bribery, corruption, and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). She has addressed issues such as asset misappropriation, improper payments, cryptocurrency-related fraud, and financial misconduct related to pandemic relief programs. Amy has also conducted accounting record reconstruction and advised on the interpretation of generally accepted accounting principles in contentious contexts.
Amy specializes in risk assessment, internal control evaluation, and the development of remediation strategies. She has reviewed and enhanced corporate policies and procedures to strengthen governance and compliance frameworks.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Amy is based in the Washington, DC Metro area, and provides forensic services to clients across the United States. Her project experience includes work in the United States, the Middle East, Mexico, China, Brazil, and India.
