Local public schools had two major bond issues, which included mechanical modernization with a total construction cost of $70M and the Prop S school improvement bond issue with a total construction cost of $150M.
J.S. Held’s environmental consultants represented the public schools. Work included asbestos abatement, mold remediation, lead abatement, demolition, fuel tank management, civil engineering services, and a preventative maintenance program to manage lead-based paint hazards and drinking water for the district. In addition, the environmental consultants managed a general operating budget of $1.5M annually, governing all environmental compliance and risk management services for the district.
All the work has been completed on time and under budget to date.
