James "Jim" Yasitis joined J.S. Held in September of 2023 as part of J.S. Held’s acquisition of Environmental Consultants, LLC. Jim and his partner operated Environmental Consultants, LLC for over 20 years in the Midwest.
Jim has worked in the environmental field for over 36 years with specific experience in the environmental building sciences. Jim specializes in asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, and remediation/abatement. Jim has worked throughout the United States during his career in the industry, working with large nationwide firms and small local boutique firms. Jim has helped start and maintain several environmental consulting and training companies, as well as one abatement/remediation firm. Jim has worked in all phases of the abatement/remediation process, from completing and supervising actual remediation projects; initial AHERA school inspections/management plans in 1988; developing an environmental consulting/training firm, and owning an abatement firm; managing and estimating for large local and national abatement firms; development of an environmental consulting firm in California; and management of environmental departments for large national environmental firms. Jim is an approved EPA, Missouri, and Illinois trainer as well.
Jim’s clients include the government, public, and private sectors. Clients include major national corporations, government institutions, higher education, school districts, healthcare facilities, regional supermarkets, commercial, and industrial customers. Jim has projects ranging from developing remediation plans for an entire hospital demolition project to completing asbestos services for small local school districts.
Jim's diverse experience allows him to fully understand all aspects of the environmental building sciences industry from investigation through completion. Jim takes pride in ensuring projects are being delivered on time, under budget, with no additional costs with the client’s best interest at heart. Jim has completed large-scale projects with multiple disciplines required as well as the smallest projects for his clients and the same effort is given to each project. Jim’s passion has been a client-first mentality that along with his hard work and relentless pursuit of perfection has been a very successful approach to winning the hearts of many long-term customers. Oftentimes, customers comment on Jim's tenacity in getting things right and working hard to achieve the objective at hand. Jim’s favorite quote from a customer was “The reason I hired you was the glowing references I received from your competitors in the industry about the quality and commitment of your work.”
