Shawn L. Bowers is a Vice President at J.S. Held with experience in equipment loss consulting both domestically and internationally. He specializes in damage assessment, the feasibility of repair versus replacement, comparable replacement analysis/estimates, actual cash value estimates, production impact resolution, and claim evaluation.

During his professional career, Shawn has evaluated a wide variety of equipment and systems including, but not limited to, dry-cleaning/commercial laundry, sawmill/wood manufacturing, commercial ovens, manufacturing/industrial, car wash systems, medical/dental components, mining/off-highway, and other specialized equipment. His areas of concentration are industrial machinery, mechanical systems, food processing, manufacturing, and laundry equipment.

His position requires timely and effective communication with the insured, contractors, public adjusters, suppliers, and clients to manage information associated with the loss and resolve issues quickly. His technical expertise and attention to detail have been recognized by his peers. Shawn has consulting experience across the country. His evaluations include on-site inspections, desktop reviews, equipment pricing, and sourcing, invoice and document analysis, and loss-summary reporting for his clients. Determining the accuracy of proposed replacements, evaluating repair versus replacement, examination of manufacturers' and vendors' quotes are also functions of his specialty.
