Michael Alexander joined J. S. Held in January of 2023 as part of J.S. Held’s acquisition of AEA Group.
Mr. Alexander was a Principal at AEA Group where he has focused his practice on disputes involving business valuations and other valuation issues, and intellectual property disputes such as patent and trademark infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets. He is experienced in various damage methodologies, including lost profits, reasonable royalties, disgorgement, diminution in value, and others.
Mr. Alexander was recognized as one of the Forty Under 40 in the financial consulting industry by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (“NACVA”) in 2019.
Mr. Alexander has also reconstructed accounting records, traced the flow of cash and conducted forensic investigations to determine the sources and uses of funds and indicia of fraud. He has led teams engaged in the evaluation of thousands of business lost profits claims related to a complex class action settlement.
Mr. Alexander has also assisted attorneys in disputes beyond just damages determinations and business valuations. He has supported clients by assisting in the preparation of discovery requests, complaints, responses to interrogatories, and other pleadings, preparing deposition questions for key expert and fact witnesses, leading teams performing document review to identify relevant, specialized or other technical documents, and preparing demonstrative exhibits.
Mr. Alexander is experienced in providing services to clients that operate in heavily regulated industries, including banking & insurance, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, real estate & construction, manufacturing, and energy.
