Melissa Impastato has been a construction professional for nearly 20 years and has extensive experience with project management, general contracting, and construction operations. Melissa’s area of expertise concentrates on construction planning and scheduling, cost evaluation, and business planning across the United States and the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Melissa was a Vice President of Operations for Urban Investment Partners (UIP), a vertically integrated owner/developer/contractor specializing in multi-family investments. At UIP, Melissa held an executive management role in their construction group and focused on preconstruction, contract negotiation, personnel management, and project performance. In addition, Melissa spent 15 years at Clark Construction Group, one of the nation’s top contractors and the largest privately held general contractor. At Clark, Melissa was responsible for on-site management, change order / claims negotiation and resolution, and schedule and budget management. She was directly responsible for the construction of over $200 million throughout her career.
Melissa is a Senior Managing Director in the Builder’s Risk group at J.S. Held. She specializes in analyzing complex claims for various construction projects under development. Her expertise includes reviewing and analyzing claimed costs and delays, preparing cost valuations and period of restoration schedules, and developing expert reports.
