Jim is an exterior enclosure and façade expert with over 30 years of specializing in the curtain wall and glazing industry. He successfully managed and led teams on over $250 million and 2.8 million square feet of façade construction, most of which was completed while working at Harmon, Inc., a leader in the curtain wall industry.
Jim has experience in contract management, contract and claims negotiations, estimating, schedule development and analysis, façade design development, QAQC development, cost tracking and analysis, curtain wall performance mockups, design and incorporation of fire-saving systems into curtain walls, and system failure analysis.
Since joining J.S. Held in 2017, he has provided consulting and expert services for insurance companies and plaintiff and defense law firms nationwide. Jim has worked on over 80 builder’s risk, property damage, and construction defect projects, most of which involved building facades.
Jim provides consulting services and litigation support on projects and disputes involving property damage and construction defects. Jim’s work consists primarily of cost estimating, analysis, and expert litigation support. He is available for onsite project monitoring both nationally and internationally.
His construction experience included over 2.8 million square feet of façade construction worth over $250 million. This work extended throughout the United States and was across numerous building types, including commercial, multi-family residential, hospitals, research facilities, medical offices, hotels, governmental facilities, high-rise structures, and campus-style facilities.
