Erik Fritzberg has over two decades of experience in the architectural industry, including building design, building codes, accessibility, premises liability investigation, architects' standard of care, and building envelope systems. Erik is a licensed architect in 49 jurisdictions across the county, as well as a Certified Building Official, Certified Accessibility Inspector / Plans Reviewer, and Certified Floodplain Manager. Mr. Firtzberg's primary specialty is building code compliance related to increased construction costs and the review of laws and ordinances related to building repair or replacement.

Mr. Firtzberg has conducted forensic architecture inspections and investigations related to performance failures and evaluation of building envelope systems, design defects, and water intrusion claims for attorneys, adjusters, and owners. Erik has provided assessments to attorneys in conjunction with architects' and contractors' standard of care matters for various project types as a delivery method in numerous states. Erik has also conducted premises liability assessments and floor surface slip testing for attorneys and adjusters concerning slips, trips, and falls in conjunction with applicable building and fire codes relating to these matters.

Prior to J.S. Held, Mr. Firtzberg worked in the architectural industry in all phases of project delivery, construction administration, building design, and documentation on a broad and diverse project type and scope.

In addition to Mr. Fritzberg's role as a professional architect, Erik co-directs the code group within J.S. Held's Forensic Architecture & Engineering practice. Mr. Fritzberg assists J.S. Held consultants and clients nationwide while working with various J.S. Held professionals or third-party consultants as a subject matter expert to answer or solve complex Forensic Architectural matters.
