Chris Dean’s extensive professional career in the construction industry, spanning 20 years in the UK and internationally, has encompassed a wide range of projects, including power, energy, infrastructure, roads, pipelines, hydroelectric dams, airports, hospitals, and oil and gas projects. Notable major landmark projects include Shell’s Pearl GTL, the largest LNG plant in the world, the Ichthys CPF and Prelude, the World Trade Centre Bahrain, among others.
Following a career from site, planning, project management, claims preparation, and business management, Chris’s construction experience has been an invaluable asset in his consultancy work, and his chosen field of expertise is delay analysis.
Chris’s previous international claims consultancy work included holding office positions in London, Qatar, and Dubai, providing delay analysis, leading complex, multimillion-dollar claim preparations, and managing business operations. Chris also has successful experience acting as a Delay Expert Witness in arbitrations related to disputes involving projects in the oil and gas, pipeline, and road sectors.
In 2020, Chris joined J.S. Held LLC Construction Advisory Practice in Dubai. Chris’s role as Managing Director involves providing Delay Analysis and management, as well as oversight of a team of delay analysts and claims practitioners at J.S. Held in the Middle East. He is also involved in the preparation and/or defense of claims concerning delay, extensions of time, and changed circumstances.
