Andrew Ross has nearly 30 years of experience managing building restoration projects, including cost management and scheduling, estimating repairs and scope preparation, and on-call emergency job management. He has fulfilled the role of Consultant as defined by CCDC construction contracts on projects ranging from $500,000 to $50,000,000 in value. Andrew has experience as an Appraiser and Umpire for Appraisal processes.
Andrew has authored expert opinion reports on building losses for litigation purposes on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has also led and managed large-scale responses to catastrophe situations, including the 2011 Slave Lake, Alberta wildfire, the 2013 Southern Alberta flooding, and the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire.
Andrew has coordinated and executed large-scale catastrophe responses and liaised with local governments, insurer groups, and NGOs on coordinated disaster recovery projects.
Prior to their acquisition by J.S. Held, Andrew was the Chief Operating Officer of SPECS Limited, Canada's largest post-loss building consulting firm.
Andrew leads J.S. Held's Building Consulting practice, which includes more than 300 experts from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Colombia, including building consultants, content consultants, renewable energy experts, and forensic meteorologists.
Andrew was a contributor to J.S. Held's 2024 Global Risk Report.
