Andrew Lovenstein has extensive experience evaluating the structural condition of existing buildings. The structures evaluated have ranged from very large commercial buildings to storage shed for residential homes. The buildings being evaluated have had assembly, commercial, business, residential, hazardous, storage and institutional occupancies. The types of evaluations include both destructive testing and non-destructive testing methods. Andrew has extensive knowledge of both current and archaic building systems and materials. He has performed building evaluations after hurricane, flood, fire, vehicle impact, mold, hidden moisture intrusion, and sinkhole activity. Andrew has also done evaluations on undamaged buildings as part of real-estate transactions, change of occupancy or use, and has performed many feasibility studies for additions to existing buildings.
Andrew has experience with the structural design of new structures. He has worked with architects, owners and contractors as a lead design professional, a member in a design team, an independent consultant retained, a specialty engineer, and as a contract administration inspector. He has experience designing structures using standard concrete, pre-cast concrete, post-tensioned concrete steel, wood, aluminum, and glass/glazing. He has designed foundations and structures using piles, micro piles, post-tensioned foundation systems, spread foundations, slabs on grade, and specialty foundations for dynamic machine loading. Andrew has done the structural design for crane repairs and has designed structures to support dynamic and/or moving loads.
