In this podcast, Daniel Miles speaks with Jeremy Glover, Partner at Fenwick Elliott, about how his background as an archaeologist led to his legal career and informs his work as a construction law expert. They consider Jeremy’s role as a former trustee of the Construction and Development Partnership (CODEP), which built a library in Sierra Leone that became an important community center during the Ebola outbreak, and also discuss his various arbitrations and what he has learned acting as an adjudicator.

Daniel Miles joined J.S. Held’s Construction Advisory practice as a Senior Managing Director in April of 2023 as part of J.S. Held’s acquisition of Aquila Forensics. He is an experienced chartered quantity surveyor and testifying expert witness with more than 15 years of experience working on high-value, complex disputes. Daniel has given evidence on multiple occasions in various international arbitrations. He specializes in the provision of quantum advice and opinion in mediation, adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
Daniel lectures at both Stuttgart University and Derby University on contract administration and assessment of quantum and delays in disputes in a number of courses. He also provides training for firms on the commercial management of contracts under all significant contract forms.

Jeremy Glover is a partner and solicitor at Fenwick Elliott, specializing in construction, energy, and engineering law. He has particular expertise in advising clients on international projects, often under the FIDIC form. He assists and represents clients at dispute board hearings as well as in international arbitrations. In the United Kingdom, he is also an accredited adjudicator and regularly advises on both the conduct of adjudication and the enforcement of adjudicators’ decisions. Jeremy is listed as a leader in his field in Who’s Who Legal: Construction 2022. He is also the co-author of the book: Understanding the FIDIC Red and Yellow Book: A Clause by Clause Commentary. He is a member of the Board of Examiners on the Centre of Construction Law MSc program at King’s College, London, where he also teaches on adjudication and FIDIC issues, as well as the FIDIC Summer School.
