J.S. Held Acquires GLI Advisors, Strengthening Our Construction Project Support Services in the Western US and Hawaii
Read MoreIn this scenario, J.S. Held was retained to consult on the restoration of a 100-year-old multi-unit residential building that sustained significant structural and smoke damage.
In collaboration with the environmental consultant and structural engineer, J.S. Held helped establish the scope of work required to return the building to a pre-loss condition. We developed a comprehensive scope and pricing package, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Throughout the project, J.S. Held worked closely with the contractor to oversee demolition and restoration activities, verifying that all work was executed properly and that associated costs were appropriate and justified. Our emergency cost analysis resulted in almost 20% of savings on this phase of the project due to costs outside of industry standards. We also facilitated a competitive bid process to ensure transparency and value for the ownership group and provided recommendations on the most effective strategies for restoring the building while preserving its historical character. Our consulting role also included ongoing coordination with the project team to monitor progress and address emerging issues and change orders.
