J.S. Held Acquires Shechter & Everett to Expand Forensic Accounting Capabilities for Family Law Disputes in Florida
Read MoreIn 2020, our client commenced a road and infrastructure corridor project that included over 7.5 kilometres of large-diameter, concrete-mortar-lined ductile iron pipeline for irrigation purposes. The pipeline was constructed in three main phases and was completed in 2023. Although the system successfully passed pressure testing, it remained unused for approximately one year. Upon commissioning, failures occurred across all three phases.
J.S. Held was retained to identify the root cause of the pipeline failures, assess contributing factors, and evaluate contractual liabilities. This required a comprehensive review of the project lifecycle, including geotechnical investigations, pipeline design, structural calculations, tender processes, material procurement, construction methods, and site supervision. Utilising post-failure CCTV inspection footage, the failure mechanism was determined, and all potential factors were analysed. Once the contributing factors were identified, J.S. Held provided an assessment of contractual responsibilities among the parties involved.
