J.S. Held Acquires Shechter & Everett to Expand Forensic Accounting Capabilities for Family Law Disputes in Florida
Read MoreIn this scenario, a client reached out to a mitigation oversight expert immediately after a loss notification to review the scope of work and budget provided by a mitigation contractor following a fire with associated water damage. After a review of the scope, the mitigation expert recommended that the adjuster also retain a J.S. Held building consultant and hygienist and have an expert oversee the progress of the mitigation. All J.S. Held staffing recommendations were approved by the client.
J.S. Held provided a rough order of magnitude for the mitigation within 48 hours, provided project oversight during the emergency mitigation process, and assisted the claims team with negotiations regarding billing practices and scope issues. Additionally, J.S. Held provided a hygienist who took samples and made recommendations regarding issues identified by the mitigation oversight expert in cleaning as well as replacement of building components. J.S. Held also provided a building consultant who assisted with reviewing the costs and scope associated with the rebuild portion of the project. Ultimately, by “ending the emergency phase,” over $700K in savings was realized during the mitigation, and the building consulting team continues to aid the claims team on the reconstruction phase of the project.
