In this scenario, J.S. Held’s Contents team was called to manage a large loss. The duties included, but were not limited to, providing a scope of work and step-by-step guidance regarding how the process should be performed as well as how all products should be handled within the subject facility as per J.S. Held’s direction.
J.S. Held was retained to clerk a site of over 100 people, handling non-restorable content in addition to non-cleanable and cleanable contents. We examined all content within/on the property, including, but not limited to, a variety of contents ranging in type from automotive to cookware to textiles to consumables, which were to be deemed cleanable or non-cleanable to ensure the safety of staff and customers handling all consumer products and services. In addition to handling the contents, J.S. Held also supervised the site daily (12 hours per day) to ensure all content was handled as directed by J.S. Held; this included daily logs and reports. J.S. Held would also, upon request, record any equipment in use or not in use and would set meetings as needed to discuss any changes or issues that arose throughout the process.
Once J.S. Held received the complete logs of contents that had been removed, we examined items from the lists for liquidating or disposal purposes. This entailed many C-Cans of content to be processed. Once this step was complete, J.S. Held provided the total amount of value for insurance.
