Accident Reconstruction Services
On August 12, 2017, violence erupted during the protest of a political rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. During the altercation, James Alex Fields, Jr. drove a Dodge Challenger into a crowd of counter-protestors, killing one person and injuring 35. Engineers and visualization experts on our Accident Reconstruction team were called upon to analyze the case and reconstruct the events that took place. The following processes were used in the recreation of this incident:

Result:
In 2018, James Fields was tried and convicted of first-degree murder, malicious wounding, and other crimes. He was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 419 years. On November 23, 2021, the organizers of the rally were found responsible for the injuries sustained by counter-protesters and were ordered to pay damages in excess of $25M. Legal counsel for the plaintiffs hired our engineers and visualization experts to reconstruct the crash and help the jury understand the details of the incident.
