The client, an electric generating unit (EGU), needed environmental support for ongoing operations due to staff retirements. EGUs, particularly highly regulated fossil fuel burners, require a wide breadth of support in the environmental area including guidance on air, water, and waste management issues. Because on-site environmental personnel were retiring, the client needed an on-site environmental professional to fulfill that role.
To meet the client’s needs, J.S. Held provided an environmental professional as a secondee to the fossil fuel powered EGU. The professional provided real-time operations and maintenance support to the facility, maintained records, and prepared necessary reporting for the facility.
J.S. Held also provided expertise across each key compliance program for the EGU, assisting both staff and the plant manager. The secondment has allowed the client to avoid disruption due to staff retirement.
