In efforts to broaden its business model, the Company purchased a majority interest in a popular European bartender’s guide. The concept was to use the guide to assist in the development and introduction of new liquor brands. Soon after the merger, significant management conflicts arose between existing management and the editor of the bartender's guide.
The Company engaged our experts to develop a strategy to resolve these conflicts. We determined that the synergies expected from the merger were likely to continue to be elusive, and the best strategy was to spin out the guide. Working with both management teams, J.S. Held assisted in a smooth spinoff of the guide.
