Held’s Equipment Consulting Practice was engaged to determine the cause of failure, evaluate the equipment, determine the scope of the damage, develop ROM estimates, and quantify a period of recovery and costs. We met with the client’s team of engineers to discuss the circumstances, evaluate event data, and collaborate with them on developing temporary workaround solutions to restore operations quickly. Neither the food nor tank manufacturers could determine a root cause for the failure, but our team did. Our timely report provided findings that allowed our client to implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and recommendations for claim consideration. The repairs were completed ahead of the original plan and under the initial estimate. In addition, any business interruption implication was mitigated through temporary measures and other actions taken on by the manufacturer.
