Thomas specializes in commercial, residential, and industrial construction. With over 42 years of experience, Thomas provides consulting and expert services on various construction defects, property and casualty, delay and affirmative construction claims, monthly construction monitoring, disbursement control services, contractor’s license bond claims, and surety-related matters throughout the western states. He has been retained as an expert in over 1,500 matters and has testified on more than 300 occasions in deposition, trial, and/or arbitration. Thomas also provides special expertise in the areas of swimming pools and spas, and various subcontractor trades (e.g., concrete, masonry, framing, drywall, and stucco).
Thomas has been involved in various aspects of project management, including estimating, onsite project monitoring, performance analysis, payment bond claims, expert report preparation, and expert testimony. He has extensive involvement in numerous major loss assignments throughout most of the Unites States. He has consulted on large complex insurance and surety losses, including commercial, single, and multi-family residential projects, nursing home facility, high rise condominiums, off site and on-site bonded projects, renovation of a mobile home park, AAA minor league baseball stadium, highway projects, swimming pools, spas, and water features, and various construction defect matters.
