Stephen Ellis is an Environmental Scientist / Industrial Hygienist for the United States within the Environmental, Health & Safety Division of J.S. Held LLC. He has over 15 years of experience in the environmental field, beginning his career in environmental abatement and demolition services before transitioning into consulting with a focus on hazardous materials management.
Stephen has worked with a diverse range of clients, including local school districts, small-scale developers, national utility providers, and multinational manufacturers. His consulting practice focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with asbestos, lead-based paint, and other regulated materials. He develops tailored strategies to address the specific challenges posed by these substances in both public and private sector projects.
His project experience spans various regions of the United States, particularly in the Southeast and Midwest, and includes international work at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Stephen’s practical knowledge and field-based expertise support his ability to deliver effective environmental health and safety solutions across diverse operational environments.
