Scott Cushing has been in the construction and construction consulting industry for 38 years, starting as laborer on residential and commercial projects. After receiving a Construction Management and Business Administration Degree, Scott continued working in the field as a Field Engineer and Assistant Superintendent, then on to Project Management and Estimating for several commercial, industrial, institutional, and military projects.

Prior to joining J.S. Held, Scott started and built up the Seattle and Northwest offices for a national construction consulting firm covering the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, over a 19-year span. In addition to managing a large office, Scott consulted on insurance claims such as direct property, builders risk, liability, and construction defect claims throughout the United States, including catastrophes for hurricane, earthquake, hail, flood, snow load, and wind. Commercial projects include high rise and mid rise buildings, city and state municipality, multiple building and site projects, office buildings, resorts, hotels, retail, restaurants, casinos, schools, churches, hospitals, dental, tribal properties, and historic properties. Industrial projects include manufacturing, fish processing plants, utility tunnel / large pipe, mass transit, cold storage facilities, processing plants, treatment plants, large electrical damage, and large water tanks. Marine projects include bulkheads, floating docks, large timber / steel docks / piers, irrigation diversion structures. Residential projects include large high end residences, condominiums, apartment complexes, military housing, retirement facilities. In addition to consulting on the above noted claims, as well as several other not listed, Scott provided services for dispute resolution, appraisal, expert witness, and testimony.
