Robert has over 30 years of professional experience in the design, manufacturing, repair, and failure analysis of rotating equipment used in power generation, transportation, oil and gas, chemical processing, and manufacturing industries. His assignment has included the design of gas turbines, diesel engines, space propulsion systems, generation packages, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment for Pratt & Whitney, Allison Engine, and Rolls-Royce Aerospace. As a professional engineer, he has prepared, signed, sealed, and submitted engineering plans and drawings for process equipment, piping systems, and pressure vessels. He has developed overhaul, repair, and maintenance procedures for mechanical components and systems. He conducts design reviews of machinery and equipment to identify design deficiencies, manufacturing defects, and/or maintenance issues as the root cause of the mechanical breakdown.
Mr. Basile is experienced with the interpretation and utilization of Codes and Standards as issued by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Welding Society (AWS), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Petroleum Institute (API), and American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA). He has assisted in drafting codes for ASME and ASTM, for Pratt & Whitney, and for Rolls-Royce Aerospace.
Robert Basile works with a team of engineers, metallurgists, scientists, and technicians to conduct on-site and laboratory investigations into the failure of components, equipment, and systems at industrial and commercial facilities. He also conducts damage scope assessments following machinery malfunctions, fires, explosions, and severe weather events.
