Rick is a Vice President at J.S. Held in its Farmington, Connecticut office. Rick has worked in the construction industry since 2005 and has extensive experience in assessing buildings and structures damaged as a result of water, fire, wind, theft/vandalism, freeze, and hazardous materials. Rick has worked with insurance adjusters, contractors, architects & engineers, industrial hygienists, property owners, public adjusters, and attorneys to obtain a detailed scope of work for cost estimating, scheduling analysis, and proposal/invoice analysis related to damaged buildings and structures. Assignments include high net worth residential, commercial, education, industrial, healthcare, and government. On dispute resolution matters, Rick has functioned as an appraiser and an umpire.
Rick has functioned as an owner-representative on noninsurance-related construction work, including creating bid packages, obtaining competitive bids, preparing and executing contracts, and overseeing the project from start to finish.
Rick was a building consultant at Wakelee Associates LLC prior to being acquired by J.S. Held LLC in 2016. Prior to Wakelee, Rick worked as an assistant manager/lead carpenter for a general contractor in Connecticut, performing work related to new construction and remodeling/renovation for residential and light commercial properties.
Rick graduated from Vermont Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Construction Practice and then from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management.
Rick has an OSHA-30 certification and is certified in applied structural drying.
