Randy Ison has spent more than 32 years in the construction and consulting fields as a project manager and building consultant. Randy has extensive experience working on hail, flood, wind, tornado, hurricane and fire losses and numerous large-scale reconstruction projects throughout the US and globally. In addition, his expertise includes hands-on monitoring and cost control of large projects and acting as liaison between general contractors, insurance carriers, property owners, and other consultants, providing detailed damage evaluations, negotiating contracts and construction of detailed cost estimates as well as appraisal, umpiring and expert witness assignments.
Randy is currently the Executive Vice President, National Client Services at J.S. Held. In addition to Randy’s oversight of the many complicated assignments handled by our team, he has personally consulted on large complex insurance losses including high rise office buildings, educational facilities, apartment complexes, hotels, malls, manufacturing buildings, and multi-building corporate campuses.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Randy ran his own General Contracting business for eight years and specialized in new building construction of commercial, multi-family, and single family homes as well as general maintenance and fire restoration projects. Prior to owning his own business, Randy was the Regional Director of Maintenance and Training for Equity Residential Properties in Chicago, Illinois. There he managed several 800 – 1600 unit apartment complexes, monitored contracts, capital improvement projects, and inventory.
Randy’s background in staff management and motivation, along with his strong negotiation skills, enables him to proactively identify and address problems. This allows him to face challenges head on and to find solutions that benefit our clients.
