Philip Worman joined J.S. Held in May of 2022 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of GPW. Philip has over 25 years of experience in the political risk, business intelligence, and investigations sector, advising clients on doing business in emerging and frontier markets. Philip has particular expertise in sanctions policy and risk mitigation. Philip is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from Eurasian energy issues to international sanctions and geopolitics. He has also featured as a commentator for the BBC, Financial Times, Vedomosti, Bloomberg, Sky News, and other outlets.

Philip has acted as an expert witness in Benyatov vs Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Ltd in the High Court, Kings Bench Division (QB-2018-001043). He acted as an expert witness to a recent case in the High Court, Family Division, on a dispute over a financial settlement.
Philip is fluent in English, Russian, and French and has elementary knowledge of Farsi. He has received an MA (Hons) in Modern Languages from Downing College at Cambridge University.
Philip has been spotlighted in Chambers & Partners for four years running (2020-2023) for Political Risk and ranked Band 1 throughout.
