Neil Postlewhite joined J.S. Held in August of 2022 following J.S. Held's acquisition of the Arcadis Contract Solutions Practice in Europe. Neil is an expert in the investigation of delays on construction and engineering projects. Neil has frequently been appointed to act as an expert witness and independent expert advisor on behalf of employers, contractors, and sub-contractors and has experience in adjudication, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

Neil has more than three decades of construction industry experience. Over the last 15 years, Neil has developed expertise in the principles and practice of analyzing construction project delay and disruption and has been instructed as an expert witness on project delay issues on numerous occasions. Neil has assisted experts in the TCC, provided expert advice, and has been instructed as an expert on time delay matters. Neil has represented parties in adjudication and mediation and has provided forensic delay support in high-value arbitration and litigation proceedings.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Neil undertook various professional roles including Planning Manager, Bid Manager, Design Manager, Program Manager, Sub-Agent, and Engineer, on a wide variety of construction projects, including highways, aviation, rail, land remediation, coastal defense, nuclear plant decommissioning, power stations, offshore wind, water treatment works, commercial and retail developments, private residential, health, education, industrial, new-build and refurbishment projects. Neil’s ability to deliver expert evidence draws on his practical project experience.

Immediately prior to joining J.S. Held, Neil spent over 10 years as a Director at E.C. Harris/Arcadis LLP, where he was part of the expert delay team in the Contract Solutions business in the UK.

Neil is a Director in J.S. Held’s Construction Advisory team in the UK. Neil primarily acts as a delay expert but also has the extensive construction experience to assist clients in the preparation and defense of contract claims and to provide advice on planning/programming, evaluation of delay events, and progress recording on live projects.
