Mr. Heinlein is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 21 years of Civil/Structural Engineering design, project management, and forensic experience. He has designed, managed, and/or inspected various types of commercial and residential buildings. This includes award-winning design work in the educational sector as well as extensive design experience in the pharmaceutical/ manufacturing, retail, religious, multi-family housing, office, and municipal sectors. His forensic experience, including over 600 site investigations, encompasses a multitude of structure types for causation, extent of damage, and reparability recommendations. These include damage from building collapse, fire, vehicle/tree impacts, blasting damage, water intrusion/building envelope deficiencies, site drainage/foundation deficiencies, building design and/or construction defects, and environmental damage to structures, including damage from earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, wind, hail, and snow/ice. In addition, he has comprehensive knowledge of the technical design standards for all commonly used building materials, construction processes, and all current building codes.
Mr. Heinlein conducts failure analyses for a wide array of building-related issues including design, construction, and performance. He has been involved in numerous major loss and catastrophe assignments throughout the southeastern U.S. Mr. Heinlein is also the Southeast Area Lead, which involves managing, mentoring, training, and assisting a team of over ten civil/structural engineers that handles investigations throughout the southeastern U.S., as well as assisting with building and maintaining client relations.
