Mike Davis is a Senior Level Engineer with over 15 years of engineering experience, including over eight years of forensic experience.
As a structural design engineer, he was responsible for the structural design of temporary construction structures including temporary shoring, demolition, and heavy lift design and analysis. He has experience with the design and construction methods of numerous types of building materials including structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, dimensional lumber, aluminum, light-gage steel, and pre-engineered and proprietary products such as steel bar joists. He also has geotechnical design experience including the design of helical anchors, micropiles, cast-in-place concrete footings, and temporary earth retention. He has extensive experience inspecting construction processes in the field. He has performed investigations of underground sewer systems and has experience with trenchless excavation. He has also performed many precondition survey inspections of both residences and businesses. The precondition surveys served as a basis for building conditions prior to nearby heavy construction. Additionally, Mr. Davis was responsible for collecting vibration data during construction activities such as H-pile and sheet pile driving.
As a forensic engineer, he has investigated and analyzed hundreds of structural failures in building framing and foundations constructed with various building materials. Such failures include the impact from vehicles and trees, explosions, collapses, and failures during construction as well as post-construction failures. He has also investigated hail and wind damage to the roofing, structural damage causation and evaluation, and construction vibration damage analysis. Mr. Davis has also performed numerous hurricane-related investigations determining wind damage, flood damage, and storm surge damage.
Michael conducts forensic investigations to determine the causation and extent of damage to structures of various types. Investigations include fire, flood, building envelope, wind and storm, water intrusion, earth movement, explosions, and vehicle impact.
