Michael "Mike" Stogsdill is an expert in accident reconstruction, event data recorders (EDR), vehicle digital forensics, and commercial vehicle rules, regulations & operations with experience spanning the United States and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
Mike retired from law enforcement after 18 years and now investigates and reconstructs accidents involving pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, off-highway vehicles, passenger cars, buses, and commercial vehicles. While working in law enforcement, Mike was a DUI and Accident Investigation and Reconstruction trainer for over 21 years. The training included specific instruction on applying criminal and motor vehicle laws.
Mike was previously a commercial motor vehicle safety inspector, conducting roadside safety inspections and enforcing Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations. He also responded to unknown hazardous chemical environments, which required specialized training in using specialized personal protection equipment. As part of his duties, Mike worked closely with his employer’s risk management division to maintain compliance with standards outlined by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
Mike is a testifying expert and project manager for a variety of cases. He is also actively involved in research and development, testing, and publishing work.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado, with an emphasis on Criminal Justice.
