Michael Jackson is a Professional Engineer licensed in many western and Gulf Coast states and specializes in forensic investigation. His background in performing post-disaster inspections on public facilities in southeast Texas following Hurricane Harvey and in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria has provided a solid foundation for conducting a wider variety of forensic investigations, not only in response to storm events but also in structural or building envelope failures not related to weather phenomena.

Mr. Jackson has investigated a wide range of damages and defects including vehicle impacts to structures, post-earthquake structural evaluations, hail damage, degraded exterior finishes, soil settlement issues, damage to roofing assemblies due to negligence, and structural evaluations of buildings following fires.

Mr. Jackson is certified by the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) as a Level I technician. This certification allows him to evaluate areas, such as high-rise curtain walls, that are often deemed inaccessible, in a safe manner. These methods are also a more cost-effective alternative to traditional methods such as manlifts, bucket trucks, or suspended scaffolding.

Mr. Jackson has extensive knowledge of building codes published by the International Code Council and the implications contained within for repairs to damaged facilities.

Mr. Jackson is a registered commercial drone pilot allowing him to perform inspections on facilities where traditional methods of access are either impossible or prohibitively complex and expensive.

Mr. Jackson is certified by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services as an evaluator for their Safety Assessment Program. The purpose of this program is to provide rapid structural evaluations of facilities following seismic events.
