Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held, Michael was a Manager at IPFC Corp. Michael works with his clients to provide economic consulting services on intellectual property matters and complex commercial litigation. He has experience spanning various industries, including consumer electronics, semiconductors, computer hardware and software, medical research equipment, hospital equipment, automotive, energy, aviation, retail, and telecommunications. His litigation and dispute experience consists of patent infringement, damages and related issues, such as, secondary considerations of non-obviousness, and irreparable harm, patent license valuation, trade secret misappropriation, copyright valuation, trademark infringement, insurance contract disputes, and breach of contract. He has performed financial modeling and calculations relating to damages for expert reports, including analysis of industry competition and evolution, company financials and sales data, industry profitability, supplier and intellectual property license agreements, business funding proposals, and business plans relating to product and service launch and guidance.
Michael is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) and is the Vice Chair of the Texas IP Alliance.
Prior to economic consulting, Michael worked in the nutritional supplement industry and investments industry.
