Read MoreMelanie Feekes is a Senior Project Manager and Toxicologist at J.S. Held. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Fisheries Science and a Master of Science (MS) in Toxicology from Oregon State University. Melanie has over 20 years of experience supporting toxicology and industrial hygiene projects.
Melanie has extensive project management experience in a deadline-based consulting organization that provides science-based evaluations and recommendations for human and environmental health issues. In addition to providing technical support, she manages, coordinates, and trains multiple-disciplinary technical support teams on various human and environmental toxicology projects, exposure and risk assessments, industrial hygiene, and litigation. She critically reviews, evaluates, summarizes, and compiles information from various sources, including court documents, deposition transcripts, medical records, industrial hygiene data, and scientific literature. Melanie has experience preparing consulting experts for deposition and trial, writing and editing technical documents, and developing internal documents, tracking systems, and organizational processes to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of high-quality work products.
Melanie has prior experience communicating science- and risk-based information to the public for the National Pesticide Information Center. While employed by Syracuse Research Corporation, she also provided support to the Risk Assessment Division of the Office of Pollution, Prevention, and Toxics (OPPT) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which was involved in the assessment of risks posed by chemicals regulated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
