Matt Brown is a Senior Director in the Houston office of J.S. Held. He has over 17 years of experience leading complex financial, economic, and accounting consulting engagements including forensic investigations, commercial disputes, bribery and corruption, and financial restatements.

Matt’s expertise includes forensic accounting regarding SEC reporting violations, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other alleged fraudulent activities. Matt has been involved in matters related to the appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards. He has worked on financial investigations involving earnings management and improper revenue recognition. His work frequently requires the reconstruction of accounting and financial records for purposes of performing financial and forensic analysis as well as a restatement of company financials.

Matt has extensive experience providing litigation support services and developing damages calculations. His work with economic damages includes commercial disputes, arbitrations, post-acquisition disputes, breach of contract, intellectual properties, and business interruptions.
