Matt Cousins is a Chartered Architect, Forensic Architect, and Expert Witness. Matt is part of J.S. Held's team of expert Forensic Architects, advising in construction claims and disputes globally.
Matt has over twenty years of post-qualification experience and worked as the Principal Architect at Essex County Council, overseeing the design and construction of 60 school projects in Essex, as a Design Manager for the contractor Keepmoat Homes on a high-rise mixed-use residential tower in East Croydon and as an Associate Architect at Foster + Partners. From 2018 to 2022, Matt was an Expert Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects Regulation and Standards Advisory Group.
Matt has been instructed on a diverse range of construction cases and is currently leading several building safety investigation programs for a number of housing associations. Matt provides technical expertise to meet the highest industry standards.
