Mark Karbiner joined J.S. Held in October of 2023 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Phoenix Management Services.
Mark is a proven leader with over 20 years of successful accomplishments in a broad array of complex transactions and challenging management situations. He is a skilled negotiator who is quick to assess a situation, adapt to distinct elements within each engagement, identify key business drivers & industry trends, develop practical strategic alternatives, build consensus, and work collaboratively throughout an organization to implement effective solutions with measurable results.
Mark has advised a variety of public and privately held middle market companies serving as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Financial Advisor. Mark is a seasoned business executive with a diverse background in strategic planning, interim management, financial advisory, performance/operational improvement, project management, and investment banking. He works on-site with Phoenix clients utilizing strong executive, strategic, financial, operational and transaction expertise.
Mark also advises middle market companies on a wide range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), plans of reorganization, and financial restructurings, as well as the private placement of debt and equity. Mark has completed over 35 M&A and restructuring transactions across a broad spectrum of industries.
Mark’s diversified experience enables him to provide interim management as well as financial and operational leadership for middle-market companies that are facing unique challenges. Overall, Mark has worked with more than 145 middle market companies with an aggregate enterprise value of more than $3.5 billion.
