Marissa Venn has experience in various project settings, providing litigation support for testifying experts and planning and conducting environmental monitoring to assess chemical exposures in workplaces and communities.

In 2024, she drafted a Tribal Hazard Mitigation Plan for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, which was submitted to FEMA for future grant eligibility. In two separate internships, she assisted with the analysis and evaluation of 211 San Diego’s Homeless Emergency Aid Program, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, she led a task force of volunteers to assist small businesses with state and local compliance. Her graduate thesis work included an analysis of transboundary pollution mitigation projects on the Tijuana River at the US-Mexico border with a focus on regulatory issues.

At J.S. Held, Ms. Venn supports toxicologists, industrial hygienists, and health scientists through literature, project material, data summaries, plan development, and report writing. She also conducts extensive literature reviews and data analysis.
