Marc provides industrial hygiene, safety & health, and environmental risk management consulting services to commercial, industrial, and government clients. His work experience includes industrial hygiene surveys and exposure assessments, facility audits, risk analysis, and research for decision-making support. He also develops health and safety plans, performs indoor environmental quality evaluations, and protocol development for site auditing.
Marc has worked with clients in the recycling industry, including those engaged in the recycling/recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, retired ships, cars, paper, industrial and consumer electronics, electrical transformers, and industrial solvents.
He has developed inspection and sampling protocols for the identification and remediation of PCBs and other regulated materials found aboard Navy ships, other government ships, and privately owned vessels intended for scrapping, reefing, or re-purposing. Marc has performed maritime inspections in the United States, Asia, and South America.
Marc has developed inspection protocols under the IMO's Green Passport program, which was recently adopted by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The IMO/ABS Green Passport program requires that a vessel owner compile an inventory, known as the Part 1 Inventory, of the hazardous and/or potentially hazardous materials utilized in the construction of a ship’s structure and equipment/systems, including location and quantity/volume of each.
He has completed three artificial reefing projects where retired Navy ships were sunk for use as coastal artificial reefs. The ships included 1) ex-USS Spiegel Grove (LSD 32), which was sunk off of Key Largo, FL in 2002, 2) ex-USS Kittiwake (ASR 13), sunk off the Cayman Islands in January 2011, and 3) ex-USS Arthur W. Radford (DD 968), reefed off of the Atlantic coast of DE, NJ, MD in August 2011.
