Luke Curran joined J.S. Held in August of 2022 following J.S. Held's acquisition of the Arcadis Contract Solutions Practice in Europe. Luke’s experience in the construction industry includes working on a range of building and civil engineering projects. His career started as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor and during his time there worked on projects within a variety of sectors of the industry including residential, healthcare, education, and civils.

His role covered the full range of quantity surveying duties including project estimating and construction measurement, procuring subcontractor work packages, preparing and agreeing to interim valuations and subcontractor payment applications as well as variation and extension of time claims, preparing monthly project progress reports, maintaining site records, interim financial reporting, maintaining and issuing contractual notices, and settling subcontract and main contract final accounts.

In the role of a quantum expert, Luke has been appointed as the lead expert more than a dozen times and has been cross-examined in the past. Luke has also assisted the lead expert numerous times since moving into construction quantum expert witness work.

Luke is regularly involved in dispute resolution processes both domestically and internationally for both contractors and client organizations. He acts in a quantum expert capacity as either the lead expert or expert assistant and provides quantity surveying services or quantum analysis on high-value / high-profile disputes through various dispute resolution routes including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation, and negotiation.
