Lisa Eastep joined J.S. Held in February of 2023 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Failure Analysis & Prevention. Dr. Lisa Eastep’s areas of expertise include physical and process metallurgy, ceramics and glasses, corrosion, quality control systems, and general manufacturing processes. Dr. Eastep has been investigating the failures of metallurgical components in residential and industrial settings including plumbing fixtures, steam and gas turbines, compressors, generators, boilers, structural components, and processing equipment for 20 years. She has performed numerous investigations into the root cause of incidents of fire, explosion, or unintentional chemical releases as well as assessing resultant damage and determining the fitness-for-service of equipment after such incidents.
Dr. Eastep is Vice President of the Failure Analysis & Prevention Group. She works with a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to perform on-site and laboratory investigations into the failure of components, equipment, and systems at industrial and commercial facilities. She also conducts damage scope assessments following fires, explosions, and severe weather events. In the laboratory, Dr. Eastep performs scanning electron microscopy and utilizes energy-dispersive spectroscopy for surface chemical analysis.
