Laura Merrell serves as the Leader of Business Development for J.S. Held’s Global Investigations practice. Collaborating crossborder with the 150-person team, Laura helps our clients connect with the best-of-the-best for support of their investigations, disputes, and compliance engagements. Having overseen the law firm channel for over 20 years, she is well-skilled in understanding the client’s needs and very effectively communicates with the broader team.
Laura is the central point of connection for J.S. Held’s three Global Investigations regions: Americas, EMEA, and APAC. This allows clients to rely on her to navigate and quickly respond to their needs, bringing the right global resources to the table for the engagement. Especially for complex cross-border matters, clients benefit due to the ease with which they can communicate and engage with J. S. Held. She is well-versed in bringing together forensic accounting, forensic technology, data analytics, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, and compliance professionals together to support outside counsel and in-house counsel.
In addition to her Masters in the Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia, Laura has earned globally recognized Sustainability and ESG certifications, including Understanding the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD); ESG: Navigating the Board’s Role-University of California-Berkeley Law Executive Education; Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Certificate of Completion; Introduction to Sustainability Reporting and the GRI Standard 2021; Introduction to Sustainability Reporting and the GRI Standard 2021 Update.
