With 25 years of structural engineering and consulting experience, Kenny spent the first nine years of his professional life working as a structural design engineer in the United States on diverse projects, including residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, agricultural, and underground utility structures.

Since 2008, Kenny has focused primarily on existing buildings, providing services related to structural condition assessment, investigation, and remediation; seismic evaluation and retrofit; insurance claims and forensic structural consultation; and tenant improvements. Kenny serves as a committee member of the Structural Condition Assessment of Existing Buildings at the Structural Engineers Association of BC (SEABC).

Kenny joined J.S. Held in February 2023, focusing on developing business and managing projects, mainly in British Columbia, in the areas of forensic structural analyses, standard of care investigations, litigation, and remediation of damaged structures.
