With 30 years of experience in the field of architecture, including over 10 years of experience in forensics, Keith Olsen has performed investigations for attorneys, adjusters, and owners. He specializes in matters involving construction defects of the building envelope, the professional standard of care for architects and other design & construction professionals, building code and accessibility code assessment, and premises liability (trip/slip & fall). 

Keith has extensive experience in building code analysis (IBC, IRC, IEBC, IPMC, NJ Rehabilitation Subcode, and local building and life safety codes) and Tier I & II Accessibility Surveys (ADA, ANSI 117.1, and local barrier-free codes). In addition to being a Registered Architect in 15 states, he holds a certificate from NCARB, allowing reciprocal registration in most other US states. Keith performs investigations, prepares analyses and reports, and provides consulting services and expert witness testimony for various types of defect and litigation matters involving architecture, design, construction, building codes, and the built environment.

Prior to J.S. Held, Keith’s experience included running his own architectural practice and serving as Director of Commercial Projects for a New Jersey architecture & design firm. Throughout his career, Keith has performed the planning, design, technical detailing, and construction coordination on a wide range of project types, including renovations, additions, historic preservation, and new construction.
