His work focuses on managing complex Receiverships and restructuring engagements, where he applies advanced analytical techniques to evaluate stakeholder positions and develop actionable recovery strategies. He brings a deep understanding of real estate finance and discounted cash flow modeling to support the financial health and operational stability of distressed assets.
Justin oversees a wide range of Receivership matters, including multifamily, office, and retail properties, as well as operating companies in sectors such as real estate development, food processing, and automotive retail. His responsibilities include forecasting and tracking cash flow, preparing asset valuations, conducting operational analyses, and managing relationships with lenders and borrowers. He is involved in every phase of the Receivership process, from initial takeover through asset disposition to final accounting and claims distribution.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Justin held leadership roles in both consulting and real estate management. At a national advisory firm, he oversaw the development and sale of residential properties, as well as managed the disposition of a substantial portfolio of real estate assets. His experience includes preparing detailed financial reports and recovery plans that have secured significant funding from lenders and investors to support turnaround efforts.
Earlier in his career, Justin served as a manager in the Structured Finance Consulting team at Ernst & Young, where he contributed to the issuance of over $100 billion in commercial mortgage-backed securities. His work involved modeling complex deal structures, evaluating credit risk retention, reviewing offering documents, and providing quantitative assessments of real estate investment trust portfolios.
Justin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross.
