He has a strong background in construction management, cost control, claims management, and dispute resolution. He has broad international experience in construction and engineering projects in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Jose started as a site-located engineer for various international major EPC companies, where he held various project management positions within large-scale renewable power and infrastructure projects worldwide (Hydro Power Projects, Wind Farms, Roads & Train Stations). He was initially responsible for executing the works within the budget, time, quality, and safety requirements. Subsequently, he assumed control duties for the overall project, encompassing contractual risk assessment and mitigation, change management, and claims.
For several years now, Jose’s principal focus has been advising contractors, subcontractors, and project owners about claims management and dispute resolution. His knowledge and expertise range from the preparation and rebuttal of claims with delay, disruption, variation, loss of productivity, and quantum issues, through to providing expert services, including preparing expert reports and acting as expert witness in international arbitrations under, amongst others, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, and UNCITRAL arbitration rules.
