John B. Redd has over 32 years of combined experience in construction, restoration/mitigation, construction defect repair, and building consulting.
During his career, John has worked on hundreds of single-family, multi-family, and commercial buildings involving ground-up construction, construction defect repair, and restoration of fire and water damage. These have included investigating damage due to natural events (e.g., wind, hail), construction defects, water intrusion, and manufacturing or installation deficiencies.
John’s construction background includes 13 years in the window and door industry, where he became well-versed in service, sales, installation, and management. He also spent numerous years working for two homebuilders, where he built ground-up, semi-custom homes. He has also been a self-employed licensed contractor in El Paso County, CO.
John has also worked in the restoration industry as a project manager, specializing in fire and water damage restoration. His duties included working closely with engineers and insurance carriers, estimating repairs, and coordinating, managing, and overseeing the repair process. During his time in the restoration field, John held numerous certifications with the IICRC, including WRT and FSRT.
In the construction defect field, John worked as a senior project manager, where he managed the production staff, assisted in sales presentations, and estimated repairs for both defect work and insurance claims for HOAs and community managers. The defect work consisted of the structural, building envelope, and civil repairs specifically related to drainage. The insurance claims consisted of hail and wind damage to roofs and exteriors.
John has been involved in property damage claim consulting since July 2020. He has consulted on numerous complex insurance losses, including shopping malls, churches, condominiums, and residences. John has worked on many of the natural disasters (hurricanes, tornados, floods) that have affected the South and Southeast U.S., including Hurricanes Michael, Laura, Sally, Zeta, and Uri.
